Catch Up Time

So I have just spent that last couple hours trying to catch up long overdue blog posts. I cant believe we are in January of 2009. I know its been awhile, I am going to try to be better at updating the blog, its hard to find time between working, housework, sleeping and of course constantly entertaining Brooklyn between her what seems like constant feedings. I cant believe she is 3 1/2 months already. She smiles, laughs, plays and is almost rolling over. If I thought time went fast before, its going 10 times faster now. Here are some of my favorite pictures of her.

Christmas & Brooklyn's First Snow

We came home from California to never ending snow and ice. Another First for Brooklyn, I had to dress her up and at least get some pictures of her. Its like a Christmas Story all over again. (She's really not that big, her body only fits in like half that outfit.) Brooklyn had her first pictures with Santa this year. She ended up spitting up all over him, I wonder if that is a sign of things to come in the next few years? Christmas was a little different this year. Cory had to work Christmas Eve and Christmas Day which made spending time as a family a little difficult. Christmas morning he made it home in time to open presents with Brooklyn even though she had no clue what was going on. Cory and I only did stockings for each other. Finances were a little rough this year with me being out of work for Brooklyn's birth and Cory missing a month of work after having his appendix taken out the day after Thanksgiving, So Brooklyn was the only one spoiled this year. We spent Christmas morning with Cory's family so he could go play his traditional football and then I went to my family's later when he was leaving to go back to work. Every year I realize how extremely blessed we are. The amount of love that is shown to us not only through out the whole year, but especially at this time of year is incredible to me. I cant even imagine how it came to be that we are so truly fortunate, especially when I compare our lives to those truly in need. The Lord has given us so much and I am so grateful for the answers that come from prayers and blessings. Brooklyn is truly our miracle and the only gift I needed for this Christmas.

Family Pictures

Funny story... Cory and I had just got done getting ready and dressed up to go get pictures. Right before we were about to walk out the door we noticed Brooklyn had gone to the bathroom and needed to be changed, it was so bad I had to hold her legs up while Cory wiped so she wouldn't get her feet in it and just as Cory was about done, she decided she wasn't done yet and literally like a squirt gun shot Cory with poop all down the front of his shirt and pants. What made it even more funny was how we had literally not even seconds before that moment were talking about how bad that would be if that happened. So hoping we wouldn't be late Cory ran and changed his clothes kind of screwing up what color scheme we had and off to pictures we went. She was awake the whole time and did really well except we couldn't get her to smile or just as she did it would be to late when she took the picture.

California

December 10th Brooklyn had her first hairplane ride (or at least that's what I called it when I was younger) to Long Beach, CA, we then drove an hour and a half to Carlsbad where Cory's sister Kandi, Carson and their little girl Maddi live. We flew down with Cory's brothers Darren, his wife Brandi and Kevin and met his parents who were already at Kandi's house. Kandi had no idea we were coming so when we showed up at her house at 11:00pm at night she was surprised to say the least, her expression was priceless and I wish we had gotten it on camera. We had a wonderful time catching up on family time. Brooklyn had many of her firsts here. First trip to the Pacific Ocean as well as Sea World and first time down the slide at the park. The day we went to Sea World was cold, rainy and windy, not the best of days for walking around a theme park, but we still had fun.

New Kids on the Block- A dream come true

So as a kid I fell in love with New Kids on the Block and once they broke up 15 years ago, never thought they would get back together, well I guess I was wrong. In November my niece Hayley and I had the chance to go see them in concert. Although she had no idea who they were, I think she had some good quality time with her Aunt who she never sees. Anyway they were fantastic. I fell in love all over again, and would pay to go see them over and over again. Natasha Bedingfield and Lady Gaga opened for them, whom both of them I love as well. So I guess I can cross that off my list of things to do before I die.
